Objects of love address authors by an invocation of their names in most important canonical texts like Joyce’s Ulysses, Proust’s ‚À la recherche du temps perdu‘, and Dante’s ‚Divina Commedia‘. This act of address changes in a significant way the discourse of the author. The ‚nom de l’auteur‘ in the mouth of a heroine produces a difference in the scene of the author. Those scenes of addressing involve questions of apostrophe, the feminine, and the constitution of authorship.
